Dance Shoes can range from $75 - $120.  The more you invest in dance shoes the better you will feel and dance.  Here is some information for dance shoes to get.

Ladies Heels:
1 1/2 - 2 1/2 inches is the standard dance heel.  "Practice or Coaching Heels" are very comfortable and work well.  Coaching Heels have tiny holes over the surface of the leather and the base of the heels can be between 1/4 - 1/2 inch wide.

Mens Dance Shoes:
1 inch heel DANCE shoe is the standard with suede bottoms.  Dress shoes with smooth bottoms work, but not as well, because of they are not as flexible.

An Inexpensive Start:
Some shoe repair shops can slap a slab of suede leather on the bottom of shoes of your choice.  This is not the best thing to do to be a better dance, but will tie you over until you buy a pair of real dance shoes.  You can try this merely to prevent any injury to yourself while you are dancing.
